Interrail

By train through Europe

We pack our backpacks and start the trip with the Rauma Railway from Åndalsnes on our journey towards the Mediterranean. On our journey south we will visit both cities and villages, we will visit some sights along the way and we will meet local people in the places we visit. An important part of this trip is that the students themselves are involved in determining the itinerary and the content of the trip at the different stops. Which cities do we stop in, why do we stop where we stop, what can we learn and experience when we are here. These are questions the students must suggest, talk about and decide in collaboration with the teacher. In other words, here you get the opportunity to learn a lot and experience many countries/places in Europe in an environmentally friendly way.

City life

On our journey south in Europe we will visit several exciting cities. On previous Interrail trips we have visited cities such as Krakow, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Venice, Florence and Rome. These are cities with a lot to offer. Museums, architecture, delicious food, markets, welcoming people and music of all kinds. During the trip it will also be possible to add historically important places on the route that can be educational and educational. On previous occasions we have visited Auschwitz, among other places.

Duration and return journey

It is on the way south towards the Mediterranean that we will have our school program. The idea is that we will take a flight from somewhere on the Mediterranean and back to Oslo. The trip will then end in Oslo and there will be a few days off before you have to meet back at school. Alternatively to flying back, you can choose to end the school trip before the flight returns to Oslo. Then you will be able to get a few extra days on the Interrail ticket instead of a flight ticket back to Oslo. Maybe you want to visit someone on the way home, or see a city we didn't visit on the trip. Or just get back to school in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
